EHS: One-Act Play Advances to Bi-District

Eastland High School Theatre Department's UIL One-Act Play cast and crew have advanced to Bi-District! Their play, The Shape of the Grave by Laura Lundgren Smith,  recounts the effects of the IRA conflict on the people of the Ireland in 1970's Ireland.

At the Zone contest in Brownwood on Feb 27, individual awards were:

  • Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Aaron West as Finder and Carolina Boelter as Brigid, 

  • All-Star Cast: Kate Bentley as Colleen and Adriana Robinson as Claire

  • Tech Award: Rylee Nelson on Sound.

At the District Contest in Graham on March 5th, individual awards were:

  •  Best Performer (only two of these are given at contest): Kate Bentley as Colleen

  • Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Raelyn Nelson as Protestor 3/Prisoner/ Republican, Bentley Huffman as Covey

  • All-Star Cast: Carolina Boelter as Brigid

  • Tech Award: Daniela Hernandez on lights.

Directors Tracy Wells and Cody Knott are looking forward to working with the students to prepare for the Bi-District competition. The next competition performance will be at Graham Memorial Auditorium on March 22nd, with an admission fee of $5. A local performance date will be set later in the season.
